FINALLY. The great City of Angels we all call home is starting to show signs of a big city downtown nightlife scene. It all starts with the new L.A. Live entertainment center - 5.6 million square miles of hotels, movie theaters, restaurants, museums, and nightclub destinations. While certain parts (like Nokia Theater) have opened already, the grand opening is in December. Check out the upcoming schedule and the holiday festivities they have planned.

32 of the top drivers around the world gather at the ports of Long Beach for the Red Bull Drifting World Championship this weekend starting Thursday through Sunday.
A special purpose built drifting track will be unveiled on the Port of Long Beach. The course will feature (6) turns and a high speed right-hand entry that will push the drivers into the 100+mph range. The course will be the first of it’s kind and will be both fast and technical and will push the drivers to their limits for the ultimate drifting competition.

Target presents this years star-studded lineup of the top actors in the movie industry for AFI Night at the Movies at ArcLight October 1st (last year it was directors). Tickets go onsale at AFI.com or at the box office this Wednesday and are $25 each.

The one-night-only event is set to take over the ArcLight theater in Hollywood on Oct. 1, the American Film Institute announced Wednesday. The idea is to bring filmmakers and fans together to celebrate American movies, said AFI chief Bob Gazzale.
